About Mind Over Matter Psychiatry
— Support when needed
Meet Lauren Tableman, MS, RN, PMHNP-BC
You’ve been holding onto a lot. If something hasn’t felt right for a while, it might be time for support that actually helps.
I’m Lauren, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, and the founder of Mind Over Matter Psychiatry. I work with people who suffer in silence and hide in plain sight. I am here to help you feel more like yourself again, or for some of you, feel well for the first time.
If you’ve ever left a psychiatric appointment feeling rushed, dismissed, or unheard, trust me, you're not alone. Which is why I make sure to take my time, ask real questions, and actually listen. Your experience matters here.
Why This Work Matters to Me
I understand the challenges of mental health because I’ve lived through them. My goal is to help you find healing, peace, and control in your own journey.
My Personal Journey with Anxiety and Panic Attacks
In my early twenties, I struggled with panic disorder and mild agoraphobia. At the time, I didn’t know if I would ever feel safe enough to venture beyond my familiar surroundings. That experience, and the help I received, changed the course of my life.
How Mental Health Treatment Transformed Me
Thanks to the care and support I received when I needed it most, I was able to get my symptoms under control, and slowly managed to break free of my own mental prison. The care I received was proof of how powerful the right tools and support can be, and it is why I do this work today.

— Core Values of Care —
The Values Behind My Practice
The foundation of my practice is built on trust, empathy, and collaboration. Here are the core values that guide my work with every client:
You Deserve to Feel Seen and Heard
You should never have to hide parts of yourself in a session. This is a space where you can say the quiet things out loud, without fear of judgment.
Your Story Matters
What you’ve lived through, what you’re feeling, what you’re afraid to admit, it all matters. You don’t need a perfect way to say it. You just need a space to say it.
We’re in This Together
I don’t put myself above you or pretend to have all the answers. My role is to guide, support, and collaborate with you using both clinical knowledge and real human connection.
